TED STEiER

comedian. adventurer. rascal.

Standing just under 5’6” in boots Ted Steier is a little man who delivers big laughs.  Whether talking about his issues with women, questioning social conventions, or just being silly; Ted uses charm and wit to bring his audience to fits of laughter.

Ted Steier pronounces his last name Sty-er, not Steer.  He started performing stand-up in 1985 when, after seeing his parents watch a Richard Pryor special, he decided to jump up on the coffee table and tell jokes.  These jokes were not well received and Ted Steier would not perform again for twenty-one years.  In late 2006 Ted returned to comedy, this time on a real stage with ‘big boy’ pants on.  He went on to spend much of 2007 traveling to every comedy open mic, stand-up contest, and ‘new talent night’ that he could find in the northeast.  By 2008 Ted was being used regularly by local bookers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Maine as a host and feature.  Doing countless shows in bars, restaurants, and VFW halls.

Now Ted Steier works all over the northeast in clubs and colleges.  He has performed as a host for The Hartford Funny Bone, a feature at Catch at Rising Star in The Twin Rivers Casino, and is a regular host and feature at The Joker’s Wild in New Haven.  Ted Steier has worked with such Talents as Talent, Johnny Rizzo, Gary Delena, Al Jackson, Angry Bob, Cowboy Bill Marten, and Lynne Koplitz.

Ted Steier presently resides in Middletown, CT with his vacuum cleaner and sneakers.
